“Worry is one of the worst things we can allow into our lives. If we begin thinking about problems and constantly worrying over the things we face, we will eventually feel weighed down and lose every ounce of our joy. The enemy often takes a small concern and tries to make it seem much bigger than it really is, filling our minds with lies if we continue to dwell on it. Many of the things we worry about are beyond our control anyways. Amen!
Worry never solves anything. Instead, it places us in a sad and discouraged frame of mind. We lose our day, then we lose our joy, and before long, we lose our peace. So when worry begins to flood our minds and cloud our vision, the best thing we can do is give those worries to the Lord. Let His peace, His joy, and His strength rise up within us.
Worry is like a rocking chair we can rock back and forth all day long, yet never get anywhere. The same is true with worry. We can worry and worry, and it still accomplishes nothing. So today, let us do as the Word of God tells us to do, and pray continually, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
And the Lord also tells us not to be anxious about our lives. In the book of Matthew, Jesus says:
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” — Matthew 6:25–34
When we take our eyes off where they need to be, we miss out on so much. Trust is one of the most important parts of our relationship with the Lord. When we truly trust Him, we can let go of our worries, our heartaches, our pain, and our confusion, placing it all into His hands.
Our lives were meant to be lived abundantly, just as Jesus said in John 10:10. And when we have Jesus on our side, we can live that abundant life. God faithfully takes care of His children. Every day He provides for us, every day He shelters us, and every day He protects us.
So let us stop worrying. Instead, let us be thankful, joyful, and choose to have hearts filled with hope, for “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). There is something truly beautiful about a joyful Christian who loves and serves the Lord with confidence, knowing that God is always more than enough for everything that concerns their life.
So let us have a wonderful day a joyful, faith-filled, and positive one shining the light of Christ and sharing the Gospel wherever we go. Amen!”
