”River of tears!”

“I’m sure you’ve all heard the expression, “Well, just cry me a river.” Amen! But I got to thinking this morning about crying and how it truly is a good thing for us to do from time to time.

The Bible says there is “a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance” (Ecclesiastes 3:1–8). It also tells us that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5), and that “those who sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Psalm 126:5). Amen!

One day, the Bible promises that God will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain (Revelation 21:4). Hallelujah!

Crying is a beautiful gift from God. It is a healthy way to release emotional pain and stress. However, if you find yourself in a constant state of crying, it may indicate that your emotional system is overwhelmed and could point to a deeper issue such as depression, anxiety, or chronic burnout.

When this happens, the brain’s emotional regulation centers can become highly activated and struggle to return to a healthy baseline. This can lead to emotional exhaustion, persistent sadness, and a lack of energy that makes even everyday tasks feel overwhelming. It can also keep your mind in a prolonged state of distress, causing tears to become your brain’s immediate response and making it difficult to process emotions in healthier ways. Constant crying can also disrupt your focus, affect your relationships, and lead to isolation and frustration.

To help break this cycle, experts encourage acknowledging what you’re feeling while also focusing on rest, hydration, and proper nutrition, as these things help stabilize your body’s baseline. If you find yourself crying over simple tasks, pause and ask yourself what you’re feeling and what thoughts were going through your mind. Writing those feelings down can help you process your emotions, ground yourself, and better understand why you’re reacting the way you are. Seeing your thoughts on paper often helps you make healthier, more intentional decisions instead of remaining stuck in an emotional cycle.

The key takeaway is this: crying is a healthy way to release physical and emotional pain and reduce stress. But remaining in a constant season of tears day after day may be a sign that something deeper is going on, such as depression.

Pay attention to your health, your body, and your mindset. If frequent crying happens without an obvious reason, begins affecting your daily activities, or becomes difficult to control, don’t ignore it. Symptoms such as trouble concentrating, difficulty remembering things, struggling to make decisions, constant fatigue, low energy, feelings of guilt, worthlessness or helplessness, persistent pessimism, sleeping too much or too little, restlessness, irritability, or losing interest in activities you once enjoyed can all be signs that it’s time to seek help from a trusted healthcare professional. There is no shame in getting the support you need to help restore your physical and emotional well-being.

So many of God’s children struggle with these battles from time to time, but God never intended for anyone to suffer alone or believe they shouldn’t seek help. Amen.

I pray today for everyone who may be struggling emotionally or battling depression. I pray that God guides each of you in the way you should go and brings complete healing—spiritually, physically, mentally, and, above all, emotionally.

Yes, crying is indeed a gift from God, but it can also become harmful if it becomes the primary way we cope with everything in life. The joy of the Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10). So I pray for joy unspeakable to flood over each one of you—from the top of your heads to the soles of your feet. May you live healthy, happy, joy-filled lives, walking in the peace, hope, and strength that only God can give. Amen!”

”For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen & Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
