“Cover your children in prayer!”

I hope and pray that all of you parents out there are covering your children in prayer..that you keep them covered in prayer..this world isn’t a very fun filled place to say the least..and there are lots of things out there that can try to distract and try to pull your child away from the Lord..things are flashy..people are deceiving..and very convincing…and on top of that life in and of itself has lots of things that say it’s okay for your children to do and to be doing..your child needs wisdom..and they need favor from God..they need discernment…and they need loads and tons of protection from the Lord..we need to make sure that no matter the age we cover them for that is our duty…that is no one else’s place but ours…the mommy’s and the daddy’s…for I’m sure that we all have seen the little post that says this…if we don’t teach our children to love the Lord..then this world will teach them not to…and isn’t that the truth..I know in the bible the Lord tells us to train up our child in the way that they should go and when their older they will not depart from it..Proverbs 22:6…I love what Billy Graham had written concerning the home, he said this..The family should be a closely knit group. The home should be a self-contained shelter of security; a kind of school where life’s basic lessons are taught; and a kind of church where God is honored; a place where wholesome recreation and simple pleasures are enjoyed…there was this very nice guide to help parents to know what to pray and how to pray for their children..and I thought that maybe you guys as well would be interested in it..it tells us to pray about their salvation—”Lord, let salvation spring up within my children, that they may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.” (Isa. 45:8; 2 Tim. 2:10)..it goes on to tell us to pray for our child’s growth in grace—”I pray that my children may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 3:18)…for us as parents to pray about love within the life of our child—”Lord, that my children may learn to live a life of love, through the Spirit who dwells in them. (Gal. 5:25; Eph. 5:2)…and for us to pray that they would have honesty and integrity—”May integrity and honesty be their virtue.” (Ps. 25:21)…about them having self-control—”Father, help my children not to be like many others around them, but let them be alert and self-controlled in all they do.”(1 Thess. 5:6)… for us to pray that they would love God’s Word—”May my children grow to find Your word more precious than much pure gold and sweeter than honey from the comb.” (Ps. 19:10)…and that they would have mercy—”May my children always be merciful, just as you Dear Lord are merciful.” (Luke 6:36)…that they would have respect (for themselves, others, and authority)—”Father, grant that my children may show proper respect to everyone, as Your Word commands.(1 Pet. 2:17)….that they would be faithful—”Let love and faithfulness never leave my children, but bind these two virtues around their necks and write them Dear Lord on the tablet of their hearts.” (Prov. 3:3)…that they would have courage—”May my children always be strong and courageous in their character. (Deut. 31:6)..that we would pray for them to remain and stay pure—”Create in them a pure heart, O God, and let that purity of heart be shown in their actions.” (Ps. 51:10)..that we would pray for them to have kindness—”Lord, may my children always be kind to each other and to everyone else.” (1 Thess. 5:15)…and pray that they would be generous—”Lord I ask that my children would be generous and willing to share” (1 Tim. 6:18-19)…pray for them that they would live a life of peace—”Father, let my children make every effort to do what leads to peace.” (Rom. 14:19)…and Lord that you would give them joy—”May my children be filled with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.” (1 Thes. 1:6)…and that we would pray that our children would have  compassion—”Lord, please clothe my children with the virtue of compassion.” (Col. 3:12)….and that we would pray for their responsibility—”Grant that my children may learn responsibility, for each one should carry his own load.” (Gal. 6:5)…and that we would ask for the Lord to give them contentment—”Father, teach my children to be content in any and every situation, through Him who gives them strength.” (Phil. 4:12-13)…and that their faith would be strong—”I pray that faith will find root and grow in my children’s hearts, that by faith they may gain what has been promised to them.” (Luke 17:5-6; Heb. 11:1-40)…and that they would have a servant’s heart—”God, please help my children develop servant’s hearts, that they may serve wholeheartedly, as if they were serving the Lord.” (Eph. 6:7)…and that we would pray for their work ethics—”Teach my children, Lord, to value work and to work at it with all their heart, as working for you Dear Lord and not for man.” (Col. 3:23)….and that we would pray for their prayer lives—”Lord, that my children’s lives may be marked by prayerfulness, that they may learn to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers.” (1 Thess. 5:17)…and that they would have a life and live a life of gratitude—”Lord help my children to live lives that are always overflowing with thankfulness and always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 5:20; Col. 2:7…For, guys I hope that we always remember that daily we deposit into the memory banks of our children..and the way we live and the things we do is the things that they will model after and go after as they themselves grow up and grow older…so make sure to watch the way you live your life..and the way in which you do the things daily that you do..for guys it all matters and matters greatly when concerning our children..and the way they themselves will grow and live their lives..and hopefully they grow up to live a life that is well pleased to the Lord..that they never compromise who they are or what they stand for when life begins to happen in their lives..and temptations comes their way..that they will hear our voices as we’ve trained and taught them right from wrong..and that they would follow the Lords voice and the Lords leading of their lives all the days of their lives..for to me that is the most prized possessions in which we as parents have been given…and parents that is our precious children..for the word says that children are a heritage of the Lord..Psalm 127:3…so don’t ever take your blessings for granted..but teach them and daily do so..don’t grow weary in correcting..and guiding them…for they need it guys..for we all needed it..for look at us all today…the things we do and the way we are..are examples of our own parents..so let us do the right things by our children…and daily as I said take them and lay them there before the Lord placing them in His hands..In Jesus’ name, I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
