“Character!”

What Does Our Character Say About Us? For character can fall into two categories: the character we portray, like a fictional character in a movie, or the character of integrity that reflects who we truly are. Amen.

Integrity is the anchor, the very core of who we are. It means that a person’s internal values are aligned with their external actions. Amen. In other words, it means practicing what you preach.

I heard a short video clip this morning, and the man was talking about kindness. He said that it is easy to smile and be kind to a stranger, a cashier, or someone you meet while shopping. After all, there is no personal tie to them. You don’t know their lives, and you don’t have a history with them. Amen.

But then he asked, “How do you treat your spouse? Your children? Your siblings? Your parents?” Amen.

How does our character line up with those people in our lives? How do we speak to them? How do we respond to them? What is our tone like with them? Amen.

He said that our true integrity is found there in those relationships, in those behind closed door moments of our lives. Amen.

Do we have patience? Do we have forgiveness? Do we truly live the life we proclaim? Because if not, that is where the greatest work remains to be done. That is where growth happens real growth and real change. Amen.

Because growth happens in those moments when we choose to love, choose to forgive, and choose to live out the life we claim to be living. Amen.

Because integrity and character are revealed in those moments. Amen.

Sometimes we say, “Well, that’s just who I am.” But here’s the truth: we would never act that way in front of someone we respected. Amen. Maybe a boss, a pastor, or a coworker. We tend to put our best foot forward in front of them. Amen.

So why do we sometimes give our families the worst of who we are?

I understand that we all have our moments. But those moments should never become ugly habits. Amen.

It is not good to act like a child, speak like a child, and respond like a child when we are called to maturity. For the Bible says:

“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” (1 Corinthians 13:11). Amen.

So my prayer for all of us is that we do better. That we love better, speak better, communicate better, and more than anything, act better. Amen.

May we rise up with an upright and beautiful character of integrity, allowing our inward person to be truly reflected in our outward actions. Amen.

May we live to please the Audience of One which is Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 John 3:22). Amen.

For what we do behind closed doors means far more than what we do in public. Amen.

Somehow, many of us have become more concerned with pleasing people than pleasing God. So I pray that we rise up to become God-pleasing men and women in all that we are and in all that we do. Amen.

May we faithfully live out the life we proclaim to be living. Amen!”

“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
