“Waiting on vacation!”

“I think it’s really funny how so many people myself included always seem to say things like, “I can’t wait for vacation.” Amen. “I can’t wait until we go here or there again.” Amen.

And what’s even funnier is that so many of us live day by day merely getting by in life. We’re not excited about our lives. We’re not happy with what we’re doing. We’re just going with the flow, if you will simply going through the motions. We dread tomorrow, and we haven’t even made it through today yet. Amen.

But you know, I just want to come today to remind us all that this is the day the Bible says that the Lord has made, and we are told to rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). In other words, we are to make it a great day. Amen.

It means we are to live on purpose. Amen. We are to be intentional focusing on today, focusing on the present, and making the most of this day to the very best of our ability (Ephesians 5:15-16). Amen.

Because isn’t it something how, when vacation rolls around, we somehow muster up all this energy and excitement? We get up early. We stay up late. We don’t murmur or complain. We are thriving. We are happy and joyful. There’s just this glow about us that not only makes us feel better, but also those around us. Amen.

But guys, what if we could break out of the mold and the mindset of always waiting for vacation before we actually live our lives and live them every single day at that? Amen.

What if we treated every day like the most incredible gift God has given to us, and we refused to waste it in any way whatsoever? What if we decided we were going to use it all for good? That we were going to be intentional with it, make plans, and do things regardless of whether we worked all day or had to get up early? That we would still be excited about the rest of the day? Amen.

Instead of putting everything off… waiting for the perfect timing… waiting for a certain project to be completed first… waiting for more money… Amen.

What if instead, we found something daily to look forward to? Filling every hour, every minute, every second with purpose, goodwill, and intention. Amen.

Maybe that means trying something new maybe a new restaurant, visiting a new city to explore, driving to a new coffee shop or bakery. Maybe instead of going out of town for a weekend getaway, we stay right where we are and have a getaway in our own hometown. Amen.

Instead of waiting on vacation, we make the vacation right where we are with what we already have in our hands. Amen.

Because life is beautiful truly beautiful if we choose to grab ahold of it, appreciate it, and embrace all that it has to offer and give to us. Amen.

So my prayer is that we all truly live every single day. That we explore. That we take steps of faith and walk in new directions. That we shake things up just a little bit in our lives.

Maybe even trying a new grocery store to shop at. Maybe trying a different drugstore. Maybe visiting a new park instead of the same one we always go to. Amen.

Maybe even going to the movies and actually eating the popcorn and getting that nice cold Coke. Just living. Amen.

Because then we don’t become bored. We begin enlarging our borders and enlarging our vision (1 Chronicles 4:10). We begin stirring things up for the better for the good of who we are as people and as families. Amen. Giving ourselves the freedom to actually live life well instead of dreading every day while waiting on vacation.

Instead, we make every day the vacation. Giving ourselves something exciting. Trying something new. Actually thriving and becoming excited about this life this beautiful life and day that God our Father has given to us. Amen!”

“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
