When I was younger, I would eat just about anything and everything, especially junk food. I could eat that stuff all day without it fazing me. Amen. However, I didn’t come this morning to write about my eating habits. What I want to discuss are my spiritual habits—the spiritual food we receive from the Lord. Amen. Some call it manna from heaven. As you go through hard times and face difficulties in life, you gain wisdom and understanding of how to do certain things and live a good life. Amen. The Lord tells us in His word to get wisdom. The scripture says, “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee” (Proverbs 4:5-9). Amen!
With wisdom, we get better in life, make better choices, and then go on to live better. Wisdom brings knowledge and understanding. Amen. It’s not like we walk around clueless; we already know. Amen. The Lord tells us that He has made us wiser than the enemy (Psalm 119:99). So, we do things in our lives to help ourselves along the way. Junk food is not good for me to eat daily; I need to bring balance, or I would get sick. Similarly, with our spiritual health, we need to eat well, live well, and we will be well. Amen. Eating well means choosing what nourishes us in our walk with Christ. Amen. It means choosing good ways to go, not just whatever way we want, never considering the outcome. It means feeding ourselves the word of the living God, praying, and reading things that help us and teach us the wisdom we need. More than anything, it means drawing closer to Jesus daily and knowing Him for who He is. Amen!
To be well, we must help ourselves by making wise choices and decisions. Yes, we may eat junk food daily, but I hope and pray that we are not feasting on junk food in our walk with the Lord. I hope and pray that we are feasting at His table daily, getting all the nourishment and filling we need to live well and be well. Amen. Jesus alone is our full source of everything we will ever need in our lives. So, let us eat well, live well, and be well. Amen. By choosing daily to be the best we can be for the Lord, we will be whole, healthy, and completely happy. In His name, Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today, my dear sweet friends, and remember, wherever you go and whatever you do, be a light for our Father. Much love to you all.
