The word of God has a lot to say about our tongues..for our mouths they can and will get us into a lot of trouble..and as well the word says that death and life are in the power our tongues and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof..Proverbs 18:21..it goes on in the book of James to says this unto us all..”Even so the tongue is a little member, but yet boast great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles! for the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith we bless God, even the Father; and therewith we curse men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceeds blessings and cursings. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Does a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom…James 3:5-13…it as well says that a fool uttereth all of his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards…Proverbs 29:11..for as well it goes on to say in the book of Matthew for us to let our communication be, Yes, yes; or No, no: for whatsoever is more than these comes from evil..Matthew 5:37..for what is it that we do speak of so often?..what is it that we discuss and talk about so often in our lives?…that honestly matters…is what were saying edifying and or uplifting someone else?…or are we discussing a great plan or a great mission that we are on for the Lord?..are we discussing Gods word?..when we set and ramble that is..for only we ourselves choose what we are going to talk about..and a lot of times the mouth is really talking about a lot of foolishness…things that really have no business being discussed or even mentioned…the thing is this if we wouldn’t say something in front of certain people…than why would we say anything at all?…but as well if we wouldn’t say certain things in front of certain people than why do we feel that it’s 0kay to say them in front of God?…for maybe it’s because self gets in the way..and we get into our self other than walking and living in the light of the Lord and abiding in His spirit for it says that if we do we wouldn’t mind the things of the flesh..Romans 8:5..so I always think about this quote..that says this…”Great minds discuss ideas..average minds discuss events…and small minds discuss people!”…but the thing that really bothers me the most is that the christians do this..and I myself have done this..and afterwards I think to myself…how in the world did I ever end up in that conversation?..and why in the world did I let myself end up in that conversation?…because our goals is to help others..encourage others…uplift others….and if were not loving and uplifting..we are choosing to not be any better than the world that we live in..thank the good Lord for His grace and mercy..and His forgiveness for our sins..the thing is this, we do better…and we all will live our lives better…by changing and living them by the word of God..pleasing the Lord…understanding that God is present in every conversation that we have..so my thoughts would be to think about that when we go to sit down and we begin to talk..just picture Jesus sitting right down beside of us…for the word of God says..”Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you…Philippians 4:8-9…so let us all guard our mouths..guard the things that we say..for in doing so we are helping ourselves…but as well we are helping others..and we should always remember this rule of thumb…and that is would we like for others to be discussing us?..and or speaking and saying things about us?…because words they hurt..and most of the time when talking a lot of people really don’t have facts that there going on there just going on assumptions..and how many of ya know that assumptions can get a whole lot of people in a whole lot of trouble..and can ruin the life of another..all because of assuming and thinking this or that..so let us all go by facts..not at all by what were thinking..for the mind is the battlefield..and the mind can honestly to goodness get us all into a whole lot of mess and a whole lot of trouble..so let us guard ourselves constantly and continually..but not only ourselves guys..but the lives of others..protecting them as well and their reputations..for isn’t that what life should be all about?..doing unto others as we would have and like for them to do unto us..you know that loving all thing and not merely few…In Jesus’ name..I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
