“Make room for God!”

“Yesterday morning at church, our pastor was telling a story about a man who bought a very expensive portrait to place in his office. He absolutely loved it and spent thousands of dollars on it. When it arrived, he tried to find a place to hang it, but every spot in his office just didn’t feel right. Nothing seemed to work.

So he decided to call in a professional to help him decide where to hang the portrait. When the lady arrived, she asked him, “What is the number one thing in your office that you love the most?” The man replied, “This portrait that I purchased is the number one thing to me.”

The lady then said, “Take everything else that is hanging in your office and place it in the hallway. First, find the perfect place to hang the portrait. Then, one by one, bring the other items back in. If they fit, keep them. If they don’t, give them away.” Amen.

The pastor went on to say that this is how it is supposed to be in our lives after becoming children of God. We are to open our hearts and make room for God to come in—to live, reign, and rule there. Amen. He alone is to have first place. As we place the Lord at the center of our hearts, we then work alongside Him to put other things back in. If they fit, we keep them; if they don’t, we remove them and leave them out because they are no longer beneficial to us and our lives. Amen.

When we know that God is living on the inside of us, it changes things—and it should. It is a hard task, change that is, but with the help of the Lord, we can do those hard things in life. He changes us from glory to glory to be more like Him. Amen.

The pastor spoke about how the way we talk changes when God moves in, the things we watch on TV change, the places we go change—everything changes when God takes up residence in our hearts and lives. For the Bible tells us, “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Amen.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20

It also tells us to put off, concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to deceitful lusts, and to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and to put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:22–24 Amen.

It says that Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints the breadth, length, depth, and height of God’s love, and to know the love of Christ, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Praise the Lord.

Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory, dominion, and power forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:17–21

So I pray this day that we remember we have been quickened by the Lord. We were once dead in our trespasses and sins, but now we are made alive through the blood of Jesus. We were far off, having no hope, but God reconciled us by one body through the cross. Through Him we have access by one Spirit unto the Father. We are no longer strangers or foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. We are no longer slaves to bondage, but righteous—made righteous through our Lord. We are called His friends, and in His great love He has raised us up to sit with Him in heavenly places.
Ephesians 2:1–18

Praise the Lord. So I pray this very day that you and I welcome our God into all areas of our lives, all areas of our hearts, and all areas of our minds—that we truly do make room for God. Amen!”

For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
