“I am sure we have all heard the statement: ‘Worry about yourself.’ Amen. And for some, this can sound like an arrogant statement—but in reality, as I sit here this morning at my computer and begin writing, this is the very thing God keeps giving me. Amen. He keeps saying it to me. Amen. And you know, that’s not arrogant—it is actually wisdom. Praise the Lord.
Because what do we do? First, we start thinking that we have to worry and stress over everything and everyone. We feel like we have to keep it all together. Amen. We think we are the way we are because of others. We want to blame others for our lives. We want to sit down and be miserable all because of what someone else is choosing in their life. Amen.
We get so focused on others that somewhere along the way we actually lose ourselves. We fix our eyes on everything about them, their choices, their actions, their behaviors. For some, it’s their spouses, their children, their siblings, their friends, their coworkers. Amen. We just get caught up in it all. We want to know it all. We worry about others so much that we don’t even consider ourselves our own hearts, attitudes, emotions, and feelings, and the things we are doing in response to others. Amen.
But here’s the thing: we have got to fix ourselves first. We cannot help another in any way, shape, or form until we are helping ourselves. We all know what the Scripture says: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord our God.” (Philippians 2:12) Amen.
It’s just like being on a plane if the plane is going down, we must put the oxygen mask on ourselves first before we help the person next to us. Amen. The same is true in our lives. If we lose sight of who we are and what we’re doing, then we become blinded to our own condition. We get stuck in places we were never meant to be. But when we choose to grow, to focus, to mature, to turn the other cheek, to do our work for the Lord and not for man, to please that audience of One, and to stop blaming our attitudes on someone else but instead take full responsibility for who we are then things begin to change.
Because if we allow ourselves to stay the same, then nothing changes. A week goes by, a month, a year—and we remain the same because of what we allow. But if we choose to see ourselves as God intends, and if we concern ourselves with our own growth—our spiritual home and our natural home—then we will see progress in our lives, our attitudes, and everything connected to us. Amen.
So this morning, I want to say to us all: let us worry about ourselves. Amen. And let God do the rest. For He is Lord—we are not. Amen. We cannot change or fix anyone, and we should never allow others to change who we are because of their choices.
So we pray about everything, and as the Word says, we worry about nothing (Philippians 4:6–7). Amen. We seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and the bible says that all of these other things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
