“It seems that for many of us, we desire the gift of grace for ourselves when we fall or fail but when it comes to extending that same grace to others, we often hold back. It reminds me of the story in the Bible about the man who owed a great debt to a king. The man pleaded with the king to be patient with him, promising that he would repay what he owed. The king was merciful and forgave his entire debt.
But then, that same man went out and found another man who owed him money. Instead of showing the same mercy he had just received, he refused to forgive the debt and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay it back. (Matthew 18:21–35)
It’s a powerful reminder that grace is not something we own, control, or distribute only to those we feel are “worthy.” Grace is a gift a free and undeserved gift from God. In Ephesians 2:8–9 it says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Each of us has been given abundant grace in our lives because, for one, we are not perfect (nor will we ever be on this side of heaven), and secondly, because we live in a fallen world and still dwell in these sinful, fleshly bodies. That’s why the Lord instructs us to take up our cross daily and follow Him (Matthew 16:24–26; Luke 9:23). Amen.
So if you see your brother or sister in Christ stumble or fall, please be kind and compassionate enough to reach down and help lift them up. Don’t assume that God’s grace isn’t for them, or that certain sins are somehow “worse” than others. Sin is sin. Instead of looking down on them, look upon them with eyes of love. Take a moment to remember all that Christ has forgiven you for and all the times the Lord has extended His hands of mercy and grace to you. Amen.
Now, more than ever, we need to help one another through this journey called life, because the days are growing shorter. If someone is struggling, what they need most is love, understanding, and gentle guidance not unforgiveness or harshness. God is the one who corrects us. Our calling is to love not a select few, but everyone and to share the good news of Jesus Christ as we walk together on life’s path.
There’s a song that says, “The world will never hear our preaching if we stand here disagreeing—it’s by love, it’s by love!” And that’s so true. So, be kind. Be caring. Be the hands and feet of the Lord, extended to a lost and dying world in desperate need of a Savior.
And above all extend God’s grace and forgiveness to everyone you meet, both now and throughout your life. For then, and only then, will we shine as never before for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
