“The thing about life is that we all have different opinions, ideas, and motives. From time to time, we say things, do things, make suggestions, give looks, speak out of turn, or talk before thinking things through—and often, the things we say or the ways we approach others are not helpful or even needful. Amen.
We live in a world filled with people, and we must all learn—myself included—how to live in unity with everyone. Even with those who are not kind, not nice, not helpful, or even downright mean. The ones who say things or spread things that are not true. Still, we must live peaceably with them, for that is what the Bible tells us to do. It says, “If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live at peace with all men.” —Romans 12:18. Amen.
But that is easier said than done. Amen. When we’re around people like that, we tend to focus on their words and actions, and before long, we begin to lose sight of what truly deserves our focus. A lady once told me, “Whatever you do in life, never let what others say or do take nesting in your head. Let it be like a bird that simply flies over.”
Whatever was spoken yesterday has no place or room in today. Amen. For God’s Word reminds us that His mercies are new every morning. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” —Lamentations 3:22–23. Amen.
If we dwell on what was, we lose ourselves in the process of living in the present. Amen. We lose our witness for the Lord, because we’re focusing on things that deserve no attention at all. Amen.
The Bible tells us, “Do not be rash with your mouth.” —Ecclesiastes 5:3. I believe it says this because the mouth is one of the hardest things to control. Scripture tells us that the tongue is full of deadly poison — Mark 16:18, James 3:8. We can speak kindness one moment, and in the next, speak words of unkindness. We can tear someone down simply by the words we speak.
But if we guard our mouths, we preserve our lives. —Proverbs 13:3. Amen. The Lord also tells us to let no corrupt communication come out of our mouths, but only that which is good for building others up. —Ephesians 4:29. Amen.
So today, we must remember that what we say and do reflects what we believe—and in whom we believe, which is Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
And when words are thrown our way—and they will be, because that’s life—let’s allow them to fly right over our heads. Amen. Let’s not allow them to take nesting in our hearts or minds, but instead, take them before the Lord in prayer. Ask Him for wisdom in how to deal with them and the strength to let them go. Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen! Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
