“Take your medicine!”

“This morning, as my eyes opened, I couldn’t help but think: every day, we have to fight for our sanity, our joy, our peace, and our freedom. We must fight to live with love, compassion, and all the things that make life good—and great.

It’s a daily decision to get up and get busy, or as I like to say, take your medicine. Amen.

Just like those of us who take daily physical medicine—whether for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, or other conditions—we also need daily spiritual medicine. And if we don’t take it, our day won’t be filled with joy, productivity, or peace. Instead, we may find ourselves filled with fear, doubt, grumbling, ungratefulness, and a “feel sorry for me” kind of attitude. Amen?

So, I just want to share with all of us what that medicine is—and what we, as children of God, should be doing daily. Amen.

1. Start Your Day with the Lord

We begin by moving with God and getting our hearts and minds in the right direction. It’s incredible what prayer does to our inner being. When we seek God’s face, it’s like a brand-new version of ourselves comes alive. That sadness, anger, or heaviness lifts in His presence.

The Bible says:

“In His presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
(Psalm 16:11)

And a joyful heart even brings physical healing:

“A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”
(Proverbs 17:22)

2. Speak Life with Your Words

Our words affect not just others, but ourselves. They literally impact our nervous systems.

The Bible says:

“Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
(Proverbs 16:24)

Let’s speak words that heal, uplift, and encourage—not only to others but also to ourselves.

3. Care for Your Body as God’s Temple

We are called to steward our bodies well, because our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you…? Therefore, glorify God in your body.”
(1 Corinthians 6:19–20)

This means being mindful of what we eat, how we rest, what we think, and what we allow into our lives.

4. Keep the Sabbath Holy

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
(Exodus 20:8)

God gave us rest not as a suggestion, but as a command. Rest restores our bodies and minds. The stillness reduces inflammation, resets our nervous system, and restores balance.

For me, church time is my favorite time—I walk out renewed, lighter, and more at peace. Amen.

5. Eat What God Provided

“Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth…’”
(Genesis 1:29)

Whole foods, seeds, and clean proteins are the foundation of health. We can’t live on junk food all the time. As I always say: everything in moderation. Amen!

6. Practice Daily Gratitude

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Gratitude boosts serotonin and dopamine. It rewires your brain for joy, peace, and resilience. Hallelujah!

7. Renew Your Mind

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
(Romans 12:2)

What we think about daily shapes our entire lives. Guard your thoughts and dwell on what is true, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.

8. Build Community

“Two are better than one… if either of them falls, one can help the other up.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:9–10)

Healthy relationships reduce stress, support our hearts, and even prolong our lives. Never underestimate the power of connection.

Choose Your Day

Every morning, we have a choice to make. Will we take our spiritual medicine today? Will we pray, speak kindly, eat well, rest, renew, and love well?

Taking our daily medicine—God’s medicine—brings healing, peace, and joy with no harmful side effects. Only blessings.

Let’s build balanced, joyful, and purpose-filled lives. Let us represent God well—shining as the salt and light He’s called us to be. When others look at us, may they wonder: “What is it that’s different about them?” And we’ll know—it’s because we took our medicine.

So let’s live in the sunshine of God’s goodness. Let’s be well, do well, and shine brightly. Amen!”

“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
