“One of the biggest misconceptions many of us fall into is mistaking opinions for truth. In today’s world, we’ve almost normalized giving everyone a platform to speak — whether they’ve been asked to or not. But here’s the issue with that: words are powerful.
When we hear something spoken over us, even casually, we can internalize it. We begin to rehearse those words in our minds, and sometimes, we even justify them. Why? Because how many of you know that opinions can sound right? Amen. They can make sense. They can fit our situations. They can seem reasonable — especially when we’re looking for answers.
But here’s the thing: as children of God, when we’re truly trying to hear His voice — His way, His plan, and His will for our lives — the one thing we don’t need is unsolicited opinions. Amen.
Why? Because God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are higher than ours. And when He speaks to His children, it’s not usually through a booming voice from heaven. No, it’s often that still, small voice within us. That gentle prompting from the Holy Spirit that says, “This is the way — walk in it.” Amen.
Now contrast that with the world. When the world speaks, it gets loud. And if we don’t listen the first time, it gets even louder. Voices rise. Pressure builds. And before we know it, we’ve compromised. We start thinking, “Maybe they’re right…” We become confused and blinded. We forget what God already said, and we trade clarity for confusion.
But how many of you know that God is not the author of confusion? That’s the enemy’s job — to distract, confuse, and cause us to lose sight of God’s promises, purposes, and plans. And he does it subtly, little by little, often using the things — and people — closest to us.
Let me be clear: there’s nothing wrong with having opinions. But unless someone asks for them — or unless you’ve truly prayed about it and sought God’s wisdom — it might be best to hold your tongue. People’s lives are fragile. And we must be careful not to interfere with what God is doing in someone else’s journey. We don’t always see what God is working on in their life, what He’s calling them to, or where He’s taking them. Amen.
Sometimes, the easiest thing to do is offer an opinion. But how many of us know that the easy way is not usually the path to growth? Even Jesus’ life was not easy. He endured pain, grief, sorrow, disappointment — yet He continued doing the Father’s will.
Think about what Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16:22–23. When Peter tried to stop Jesus from going to the cross, Jesus rebuked him sharply:
“Get thee behind me, Satan. You are an offense to me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Hallelujah.
So when we speak into someone’s life, let us be mindful of what spirit we’re speaking from. Are we speaking out of the flesh, or from the Spirit of God? Let us never forget: each of us is on a mission for God’s glory, not our own. And we don’t know what God is doing in someone else’s life.
So my heart today is this: stop offering opinions and start offering prayers. Pray God’s will over people. Ask Him to speak clearly to their hearts. Because He’s not hiding from His children — He said, “My sheep know My voice, and a stranger’s voice they will not follow.” (John 10:27)
Let’s be people who uplift, encourage, and guide others toward God — not ourselves. Let’s help others walk in their divine calling instead of projecting our own thoughts and ambitions onto their lives. Let’s get off the throne we’ve built in our own hearts, and let Jesus take His rightful place as King of Kings. Amen.
So before you offer someone “a word,” make sure you’ve first talked to the Word. Ask God if He wants you to speak — or simply pray. Because sometimes, saying nothing but standing in faith for someone is the most powerful thing you can do.
Let’s be careful not to cause more harm than good in people’s lives. They’re too valuable, too precious, too loved by God — and so are you. Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
