“Yesterday I heard a preacher talking about the breadsticks from Olive Garden — and how, before we ever get our meal, those delicious breadsticks are already on our table, along with a lovely, crisp, fresh salad. Amen. And of course, if you’re like me, you have heaping loads of grated Parmesan cheese on top. But she said that you begin with one of them… then you grab another one of them because they’re so good… Amen… and so soft… and before you know it, you have already grabbed one more — all the while eating it along with your salad. Amen.
Then comes the waitress to take your order, and you order your main meal. Amen. When it finally comes to the table, you’re already filled up with that bread. Amen. So you feel like you have no need for the meal or anything else, because you are full. Amen — because, how many of you know that bread sustains us… and sticks with us. Amen.
But the preacher went on and said: that is our lives right now. We are all looking for something to satisfy us, to fulfill us. We are running from one thing to the next, just searching for something that sustains us on the inside. And all the while, the Lord Jesus is speaking to us: He is the Bread of Life — for if we come to Him, we shall never hunger; and if we believe in Him, we shall never thirst. He is the living water — and the water He gives shall never run dry, but will be a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 6:35; John 4:10‑14) Hallelujah.
So the point, in turn, was simply this: If we would feast upon the Lord, and get our drink from the Lord, then we would be satisfied. Amen. That we would be filled to overflowing on the inside — in our hearts, in our minds, in our souls, and in our spirit‑filled man — so that we wouldn’t have to keep searching for anything or anyone to fill us. Because, again, you know that those things anyways are only temporary. They do not last; they do not sustain us. Amen.
Oh, but with Jesus we gain all that we need when we take time to be still in His presence, take time to read a little in the Word of God, which is our Bible, and when we keep our minds steadfast on Him and all of who He alone is. Then we are fulfilled. We are full. And praise the Lord, we are overflowing with all the good and wonderful things of the Lord.
So today, if you’re hungry and thirsty, and your soul is not satisfied, and you are searching for something, then take yourself and find a place and sit quietly with Jesus. For in His presence everything changes. Amen. And He alone will fill you up and give you all of your heart’s desires. Never forget that God is our Father, and He loves us ever so much. Only He can mend, heal, and fix the hearts and minds and brokenness that each of us carries inside. Only God can change us — daily. For He is the giver of life.
Oh, how I love the song that says this, “He’s the giver of life to the flowers in the spring; He’s the giver of life to the little birds that sing; He’s the giver of life to a newborn baby; He’s the giver of life to my soul.” Amen.
So be filled today. Be changed today. And get every hunger and every thirst filled today from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
