“It often seems that when we believe God is taking something away, or we think He’s not answering our prayers, none of that is truly what’s happening. Be thankful—even for the detours, the roadblocks, and all the doors that closed. God, our Lord and Savior, was protecting us from paths and places that were not meant for us.

If you look back in your life, you’ll see God’s hand directing and rearranging things—moving you away from places you once thought you needed to go, and toward where you’re really supposed to be. Now you can see why He closed those doors. In His wisdom, He said “no” when we asked Him for things.

So today, even if you feel like God isn’t hearing you or answering your prayers, know this: He is hearing you, and He is answering. Amen!

Now, the answer may not be what you want, or even what you expect—but it is the right one. You might not see it right now, but one day you’ll understand all the reasons: why He placed you where you are, and why He kept you from places you thought you needed to go.

The Bible says the Lord knows the thoughts He thinks toward us—thoughts of peace and not of evil; thoughts to give us hope and an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11). God has a great plan for all of us. When we walk in His plan instead of trying to force our own, we discover a more satisfying, more peaceful life.

So, let’s let God have His way. Let us be obedient to His will and His calling. Remember, God knows what’s best for every one of us. We don’t see the whole picture—but He surely does. Amen!”
