“I’ve learned on this journey called life that, although it’s not always fair and some days feel harder than others, those are the moments when I must purposefully seek out the beauty surrounding me. If I don’t, I risk slipping into a mindset that’s not good for my soul.
When we’re in the midst of life’s battles—whether against circumstances or internal struggles—we tend to focus intensely on the problem; sometimes, we even drive ourselves a little crazy doing it. We’re fixers by nature—we want to solve things, resolve them to the best of our ability. But sometimes, we just can’t fix certain situations. At those times, we must learn to endure and carry through rather than simply clear the path.
In those moments, if we don’t look for the beauty around us—and more importantly, if we’re not intentional about doing so—we risk losing our joy. We may say things we regret, act in ways that don’t reflect who we want to be. Worst of all, we may inadvertently waste an entire day that God has blessed us with.
But here’s the thing: when we choose to look for beauty, it doesn’t take long for our eyes to open and our minds to illuminate. Our hearts begin to fill. Happiness flows in. Even the simplest things—like a small flower growing through a crack in the pavement, or a tree rising and bending around obstacles—can inspire us not to give up or wallow in our struggles.
I take joy in the birds that visit our field in the early mornings—I’ll bring extra bread, crackers, or even potato chips to share a small snack with them. That speaks to me. If God cares for the birds of the air, feeding them freely (as in Matthew 6:26–34), how much more does He care for us? That reminder helps keep me grounded.
It’s never about the things we can buy or the lifestyle we pursue—it’s about the freely given beauty around us. The beauty of life. The animals. The wildlife. The ocean. The vast, bright sky. The gentle whisper of the wind on your face. The colorful flowers—each one a masterpiece when you truly look at it. Even the tiny insects—each has a purpose in this vast world.
Life can be unfair and unkind, but never forget your blessings given by our Father. Don’t take them for granted. Step outside, take a walk wherever you are, and open your eyes wide. Look for the beauty God has placed around you.
Wherever you are in life right now, know that you, too, carry beauty given by God. I pray that you find your beauty today. I pray that peace like nothing you’ve ever known washes over you. I pray that whatever burden you’re carrying is lifted—even if just for a moment. May your heart overflow, your mind renew, and may God bless you with the desires of your heart this day. Amen!”
“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
