“Now!”

I believe one of the biggest misconceptions many of us share is this: “I won’t be on this earth forever, so I might as well live my life now. There’s no use worrying about the future—you never know what might happen.” Sound familiar?

In that mindset, we don’t think about tomorrow—or what “later” might look like. We let all the things that should be done now fall by the wayside. We’re blinded into thinking we shouldn’t worry about our future: savings, retirement, and other important matters fade into irrelevance.

So we live day by day, ignoring the future we are likely to live into. The danger is that, one day, we wake up with regrets—not because we had no time, but because we chose not to act.

To correct this mindset, we need wisdom. True wisdom doesn’t come from our own reasoning—it comes from the Lord. When we ask Him for wisdom, He gives it. But how often do we hear ourselves say, “I’ll do it later…next week…at the end of the year…when the weather gets better…”? Later never comes, but life does—and before we know it, we’re stuck repeating the same patterns year after year.

Contrast that with people who take action now. They get things done, handle their responsibilities, and still plan ahead. They save and invest wisely. That’s wisdom. It’s not about instant gratification—it’s about patience, which leads to power. With wisdom comes freedom: when the future arrives, you’re not filled with regret.

So what should we do? Start making the right choices today for the future we want tomorrow. Be wise with finances—save, spend, and give, all within your means. Don’t spend everything you earn; that’s not wisdom, it’s foolishness. We work hard—but what are we working hard for? A fleeting moment of pleasure, or a lifetime of provision and peace?

Seek wisdom daily. Ask the Lord for creative ideas to save better, live better, and stop living paycheck to paycheck in stress. Stop playing the victim—society, the job, or the government aren’t to blame. We are. To win in life, we must quit the blame game and stop postponing everything. Because later comes faster than we think—those five years do zoom by.

And let’s be honest—“I might die tomorrow” is not a reason to ignore the future. You might live a long life—so think about it! What do you want your future to look like?

The Bible, especially Proverbs, has so much to say about wisdom:

“My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding…if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding…then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:1–6)

“Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will keep you…Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding…Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many… I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.” (Proverbs 4:5–11)

When we’re tired of being tired, that’s when real change begins. So let’s seek wisdom, and when the Lord gives it, let’s run with it now—not tomorrow, not later, not when things are easier—but right now, starting with what we have and where we are.

Let’s step into a future without fear, able to give, lend, and walk confidently into the life He’s designed for us. Amen!

“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
