“Obedience!”

Obedience is one of those words we tend to believe we’ve mastered. We learn it as children—obedient to our parents or other influential figures in our lives. But obedience doesn’t end in childhood—it follows us into adulthood. Yet the greatest form of obedience we practice is the one we offer to Christ: honoring Him by listening to and following His daily guidance.

What does true obedience really mean? At its core, obedience is a form of human behavior—social influence—where an individual yields to the instructions of an authority figure. Amen! Without obedience, our lives can easily fall into disarray.

As God’s children, this is precisely what the Lord desires from us. He wants us to hear Him, listen to Him, and obey Him—from one day to the next. There are countless Scriptures that speak to this:

  • “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” (Isaiah 1:19)
  • “If you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God…all these blessings…will come upon you.” (Deuteronomy 28:1–14)
  • “If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments… I will give you rain… and your land shall yield its produce.” (Leviticus 26:3–13)
  • “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity.” (Job 36:11)
  • “If My people will hear My voice…then I will set their enemies…to defeat them.” (Psalm 81:13–16)
  • “My son, do not forget My law… For length of days and peace they will add to you.” (Proverbs 3:1–2)
  • “I commanded you…to obey My voice. And it shall be well with you.” (Jeremiah 7:23)
  • “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them…is like a wise man…his house…did not fall.” (Matthew 7:24–27)
  • “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11:28)
  • “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word…and My Father will love him.” (John 14:23)

Through obedience, we cultivate a life that is full and complete. Even in the midst of trials and storms, obedience anchors us. When we hear and follow God, we abide in His will, walk with our heavenly Father, and experience His abiding love, blessings, and provision. We know that with King Jesus beside us, all is well—even when circumstances suggest otherwise. So let us live in obedience. Let us daily seek to walk in His ways, please Him, and honor that one divine audience—Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

“For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi ❤️
