“I love the quote by C.S. Lewis that says, ‘Relying on God has to begin all over every day as if nothing had yet been done.’ Amen. That statement couldn’t be more true, especially when we remember that the Lord tells us to forget the things which are behind and reach forward to those that lie ahead. He calls us to press toward the mark of the high calling of God (Philippians 3:13-14). Each morning, God’s mercies are new (Lamentations 3:23), and I believe that if we started every day relying completely on Him—as if nothing had yet been done—we wouldn’t grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:13).
Often, we get discouraged because we haven’t yet seen the results of our work or the answers to our prayers. But if we approached each new day with a clean slate—leaving yesterday behind and not worrying about tomorrow—I believe our attitudes would be so much better. We wouldn’t let our circumstances or situations weigh us down. Instead, we’d be filled with the same excitement and hope we felt when we first started believing, praying, and living for the Lord.
When we begin our journey with God, we’re ready to take on the world. But as time goes on, life happens. We get tired. We grow weary. And yes, sometimes we get frustrated by how much we’ve already done. But I pray we never lose hope because miracles still happen every day. Praise the Lord! Our God is the God of endless possibilities—there is nothing He cannot do. Amen.
Some people quit because they focus too much on how far they still have to go. They get distracted by the road ahead and fail to appreciate the day they’re in. But I pray we take life one day at a time. I often say, take one step at a time, and keep walking the path the Lord has set before you. Live as if you’re just starting out, no matter how far along you are. Doing this keeps us stirred up, excited about life, and in awe of what God is doing.
The Word tells us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Worrying, after all, is like rocking in a chair—you can rock and rock, but it won’t get you anywhere.
So, let’s live by that beautiful C.S. Lewis quote: ‘Relying on God has to begin all over every day as if nothing had yet been done.’ Let’s forget what happened yesterday and start fresh with each new day. Let’s desire God’s presence, His Word, and His voice every morning, knowing there’s no greater joy, peace, or fulfillment than living a life fully for Jesus Christ.
Take your requests to Him daily, knowing He hears, He sees, and He understands. Trust that He will answer in His perfect time. The Word of the Lord tells us, ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened’ (Matthew 7:7-8).
So let us keep pressing on—taking one step at a time with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen..for it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray. Amen and Amen..Be blessed today my dear friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
