So this morning I was thinking back to a time a few years ago, when Erik and I were on FaceTime talking, and all of a sudden, Erik said, “Honey, you are not going to believe this—a bird just dropped a big piece of bread right on the hood of the truck!” I started laughing and said, “Well, maybe the bird will come back for it.”
We kept watching, thinking it might return, but it never did. Then I said, “Honey, this reminds me of the Lord raining down manna from heaven for the children of Israel.” Even though God provided for them daily, they still murmured and complained. They didn’t want to be obedient to the command God gave through Moses, which was not to store up the manna but only to gather what they needed for that day.
Of course, many didn’t listen. Those who tried to save the manna found that it spoiled and became unusable by the next day (Exodus 16:4-21). But as I reflect on this, I’m reminded of how wonderful the Lord is to us. Daily, He provides for our needs—not always our wants, but always our needs. He is so gracious to us, Amen!
And yet, even though the Lord has always—always—taken care of us, we sometimes forget. When life’s pressures build, and things start to fall apart, we can lose sight of God’s faithfulness. Like the Israelites, we may start murmuring and complaining, wondering if God will come through this time.
We can begin to believe the enemy’s lies rather than trusting God, His Word, and His promises. If you’re in a tough situation right now or going through a hard season, remember two things:
1. Seasons change. They don’t stay the same forever, Amen.
2. The righteous are never forsaken. Psalm 37:25 reminds us of this truth.
God is our manna (John 6:31-36). We feed on Him and find our sustenance in Him alone. He promises that when we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4). Whatever you’re facing, know that it will pass. God sees you, loves you, and will provide for you because He is faithful—always faithful.
Our Father owns everything, and there is nothing He won’t do for you. He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings you won’t even have room to receive (Malachi 3:10). Just as that bread unexpectedly fell on my husband’s truck, God will send unexpected blessings your way. He knows how to speak to others and will provide exactly what you need when you need it.
So, trust the Lord and let go of fear, for fear has no place in our lives. We have nothing to fear, fret, or worry about because we serve a risen Savior, Jesus Christ, who is alive and well. Open your mouth and give Him praise! Let Him know your needs and desires.
Ask of Him, for He promises that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, He will do (Mark 11:24). For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen & Amen..Be blessed today my dear friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
