“What if we were all much kinder? What if we were all more caring? What if we treated one another with love, respect, and compassion? What if we took the time to truly consider others? What if we understood that we are all on the same journey in life? And what if we spoke to each other in the way we would want to be spoken to? I think sometimes in life, we lose sight of what’s truly important. We lose sight of what matters most: people, family, and friends. But who are our family and friends? Who are our brothers and sisters? Who is our neighbor? Is it just those we’re related to? Is it only the ones who live next door? God’s word tells us that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ (Hebrews 13:1). Amen.
We all share one Savior and one heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and our Father. I pray that we understand that each of us is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). When we reflect on this and imagine the changes that could come if we treated everyone with the love and respect we desire ourselves, I believe so much good could come into our lives and our world. We all carry our own battles, and as long as we’re here on this earth, we’ll continue to face challenges. We live in a fallen world. But God has spoken words of peace to us. He says, ‘In this world, you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’ (John 16:33). Praise the Lord!
When we choose to help each other through hard times, when we reach out in love instead of turning away, we realize we’re all just trying to make it through this journey called life. By helping rather than hurting, life becomes so much richer and sweeter for us all. So I encourage each of you to be kind to others, to go the extra mile, and to try to understand why people act the way they do. When we consider what someone has been through, we can understand why they are the way they are. Love works wonders for hardened hearts, and it heals wounded souls in ways that are difficult to describe. When we look beyond faults and choose to love, give, and show compassion, we see the changes that only God’s love can bring. As God’s word says, it’s easy to love those who love us. But if we do only that, what reward do we have? (Matthew 5:46). Amen!
So today, and every day that follows, choose to be different. More than that, choose to love as Christ loves. Remember that we are His hands and feet, reaching out to a lost and hurting world that needs a Savior, that needs God’s love, healing, and grace. Do your best with others, always showing love, not just to a few, but to all. Walk in the grace and mercy of our Lord. In Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today, my dear friends, and remember, wherever you go and whatever you do, be a light for our Father. Much love to you all, Mandi
