“I remember one of my co-workers once said to me, ‘There are two things about life that never change: we always know how much money we have, but when it comes to our time here on earth, that we never know.’ And I responded, ‘You’re absolutely right.’ It really gives you a lot to think about because we never know when our last breath will be. We never know when our time here on this earth will be over. We never know when the Lord will call us home or when He will call one of our loved ones. But despite knowing this, we continue living in this world, getting caught up in it—the rush, the success, always reaching for something better, always on the move. Amen!”
We rarely take the time to truly live, to appreciate our loved ones, to spend time with friends and family. We don’t slow down enough to enjoy any of it, and I believe that’s why we sometimes feel overwhelmed with life. We get anxious, day by day, trying to keep up and get everything done, always rushing to the next task or goal. And before we know it, a day is gone, then a week, then a month, and before long, a whole year has passed—just like that, in the snap of a finger. We talk a lot about living, about what we should be doing, but somehow we fall short. We miss it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss anything God has given me. I don’t want to miss out on my family, my friends, their lives, what they’re doing, and how they’re doing. Amen!”
Because life is but a vapor, as (James 4:14) says, ‘You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.’ We are here for just a moment, and then we are gone. That’s it. There are no do-overs in life, no time left to make things right with our family and friends. When it’s over, it’s over. And often, at funerals, we find ourselves standing among strangers, even though they’re family and friends. Relationships happen when we make time to share life together. Amen!”
So how about today? How about we get our lives in order and really make time for the things that matter? We never know when our life will end. That’s not meant to scare anyone—it’s simply the truth. We talk all day about living and loving, but somehow again we fall short of living up to it—whether it’s making that phone call, spending time together, planning a vacation, or just showing up and being there. Amen!”
A lot of times, we stay away because we don’t want to get involved. But life, living, and love can be messy. Yet, we need one another. Life is worth living, even with the mess, the heartaches, and the problems, because two are better than one. As (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) says, ‘Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.’ So today, let’s ask the Lord to show us how we need to live, and live well. Let’s help others live and grow, and let’s do it together, not apart, because together is such a beautiful thing. Amen!”
For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen & Amen..Be blessed today my dear friends, and remember, wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
