“I tell you, our emotions can get us into trouble if we let them—because emotions come and go like the wind. They make us want to quit, to complain, to give up, to throw in the towel, to eat the whole tub of ice cream or the entire bag of potato chips. They make us focus on ourselves instead of others. They lead us to dwell on what we are or aren’t getting, or what we think we need. This can lead to trouble because when we allow our emotions to rule us, they make our lives unsteady. It’s like being on a yo-yo—up and down, round and round. Emotions bring confusion. They make us look at our past and yesterday instead of focusing on today and what we can do right now.
In the midst of our emotions being all over the place, we lose sight of our plans. We lose focus on what we need to be doing in the present moment. We lose heart, we lose peace, we lose joy, and we lose so much more. So today, I encourage us all to get ourselves together. Let’s not allow our emotions to scatter us, but let us be steady and steadfast—focused on the Lord and focused on the present moment. The enemy wants nothing more than for us to be all over the place, uncertain of what we’re doing or why we’re doing it. He floods our minds with doubt and negativity so that we lose sight of Jesus and what He is doing in our lives.
Remember the Bible says we are not to be lukewarm or straddling the fence (Revelation 3:15-16). We should not be tossed back and forth by our emotions. That kind of instability is dangerous. God is not a God of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). When we feel confused or off track in our thinking, we need to recognize that it’s not from Him. But also remember, the Lord provides a way of escape from every temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13), and He has made us wiser than the enemy (Psalm 119:98). Amen!
So don’t forget your blessings and all that God has done in your life. Be thankful and stay on course. That is my heart and prayer for all of us. Amen..For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen & Amen..Be blessed today my dear friends, and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father. Much love to you all, Mandi
