”That one thing!”

”So as I sit here this morning I’m thinking about each of our one things in life..that one thing that we know that is ours..that thing that we do well in life..Amen..and at how important that one thing is for each of us..because for me my one thing is this..writing my devotion..did I ever think that I even wanted to do this?..no I did not..I didn’t even have a desire to write but God chose to see fit that I did..but for me I always loved helping people and lifting their spirit..and I loved singing while I was growing up..but never did I read a lot or did I write..but somehow it became my one thing in life..Amen!”

”So coming up on October 12th which is my mommy’s birthday and our doggy Benjamin’s birthday..but on this day the Lord spoke to me and told me to start writing a devotion..and that was 16 years ago this October 12th..and needless to say none of it was planned not me writing on my mommy’s birthday or did we know that Benjamin’s birthday was the 12th either until we picked him up from a Christmas tree farm in Georgia..Amen..but doing your one thing without all the extra things in life can be challenging..because I had wrote this morning that people do and do a lot of things..trying to convince others of their worth or trying to prove somehow that they love the Lord..Amen!”

”So for me I was doing a lot of stuff..working..going to church for rehearsals for choir..teaching 8th grade girls in Sunday school class..all the while trying to keep up with my home..my family..my job..the church..singing..teaching and on top of that writing..Amen..so I would get up super early to try and sit down and write..while rushing to do that just so I could move on to my next thing..Amen..because somehow society has made us feel that if we don’t have a full plate so to speak then we’re simply not doing enough..that we are falling short..Amen!”

”But I came this morning to say this that life is meant to be lived freely but as well peacefully..Praise the Lord..and God has blessed each of us with a gift or talent to be used for Him and His glory..whatever that may be..but deep down we all know what that is..could be being a baker..or a cook..a great lawyer..Amen..could be a mommy..a magnificent house wife..a fearless hard working daddy..Amen..but whatever it is..that is your one thing..so never feel that what you do doesn’t matter because it does..and whether or not anyone ever gives you praise for what you do..just know that God is so pleased and is cheering you on..Amen!”

“And when we do our one thing in life it leaves room for all the other little things that we wanna do..without being rushed..or being resentful and restless because we’ve filled our plate up with things that yes maybe we are good at them but they’re not our one thing..so God gives us grace everyday to do what He alone has called for us to do..(2 Timothy 1:9)..but it’s up to us to sometimes say no..and walk away from things in a moment that we feel that we should or shouldn’t because maybe we feel guilty or that we just aren’t doing enough..because that is a lie..Amen..so again every good and perfect gift comes from our Father and He adds no sorrow with it..(James 1:17)..and when we do our one thing life becomes a beautiful thing for us..for our families..for our friends..and for our community in which we live..Amen..so you do your one thing and I’ll be doing mine and together all of us will be making a marvelous and most amazing world for us all to live in..Amen..for it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray..Amen & Amen..Be blessed today my dear sweet friends and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father, Much love to you all, Mandi
