”Treat people well!”

“For the most part, everyone desires to be treated with respect, love, kindness, and dignity. Amen. But somehow, in the midst of it all, we often fail to treat others in the same way. Amen. We want to receive these things, but we hesitate to give them. Amen. As individuals and as a society, we fall short. We speak poorly of others, focusing on their downfalls and mistakes from the past. Amen. In doing so, we miss the opportunity to reflect on ourselves—on who we are and what we are doing. Amen. Respect is a two-way street. We cannot expect others to respect us if we do not respect them as individuals. Somewhere, someone has to rise up and give to others what they desire in return. Amen.

And most of the time, it ends up being us. We are the ones who must choose the higher road in life. We must choose to be the better person, to speak first, to be kind first, and to show love first. Amen. The Bible tells us it is easy to love those who love us, but what reward is there in that? Matthew 5:46 / Luke 6:32-36. Amen. There is no real reward. But when we show love to those who are not so kind or loving, we shine the light of Christ in our lives. We show the world that with Christ, we are different because He lives in us. Romans 8:10-20. Amen. No, it’s not easy, but we are called to go the extra mile. Matthew 5:41. We are told to overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21. Amen.

So today be the person you want others to be to you. Amen. Treat others kindly. Don’t speak poorly of anyone, for words are powerful. The Bible says death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21. I am sure there is much more we can talk about than other people and their lives, what they are or are not doing. To be a light, we must be different from this world in which we live. We must rise daily, choosing love for all, not just a few. Let us never forget that we are all made in the image of Christ Jesus our Lord. Genesis 1:27. Amen. Let us strive to be the person Christ desires us to be. Amen.

For it is in His name, Jesus’ name, that I do ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today my dear sweet friends, and remember wherever you go and whatever you do, Be a light for our Father. Much love to you all, Mandi
