This negative thinking can snowball, and soon, we might begin to believe that everyone and everything is against us, that no one loves or cares for us. At this point, we have a choice: we can either take the bait that the devil throws our way, or we can let it go. Amen. You see, the Lord our God has made us wiser than the enemy (Psalm 119:98). If we take the bait, the enemy will keep using the same tricks over and over again. But we also know that life is a test, and each of us is constantly being tested and tried. When we are tried by fire, God’s Word says we will come forth like pure gold (Job 23:10; Zechariah 13:9).
So, back to taking that bait—we need to be careful not to do so. Amen! The Word of the Lord also says that we should agree with our adversary quickly, lest the adversary delivers us over to the judge, the judge delivers us over to the officer, and we are cast into prison (Matthew 5:25). In other words, when we let others get to us, we might start saying and doing things that we should not. So, don’t give in to the enemy and his lies. Instead, the Word says, “As much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men” (Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14). Amen.
We can be angry, but we are told not to sin (Ephesians 4:26-27). So, we must give the hurts and pains of our lives over to Jesus, trusting that He alone will take care of the problems we are facing or have faced. In and of ourselves, we can’t let go, and it’s hard for us to forgive others when they’ve wronged us. But we know that if we forgive others, we are also forgiven (Matthew 6:15; Mark 11:26). Amen!
If we don’t let go, roots of bitterness begin to grow in our hearts. The Lord tells us to guard our hearts above all else, for from them flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Additionally, from the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak (Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45). So, let us guard and protect our hearts well. Let us be wise and choose to be free from anything and everything that would try to hold us captive or in bondage. We are free, so let us stay free, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).
Life is too short for anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, or strife. Let us let go of it all and not hold on to any of it. Give it over to the Lord, and He will take care of it. Let us be the best we can be for the Lord. Let us walk in love and always treat others the way we want to be treated. In Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today, my dear sweet friends, and remember: wherever you go and whatever you do, be a light for our Father. Much love to you all. Mandi
