”Season for everything!”

I know so many people, myself included over the past years and even recently, who keep holding on to certain things that were never meant to stay in our lives forever. Amen. Sometimes certain things are only seasonal, not forever. Amen. Many things come into our lives and stay for the rest of our lives, but many others come for just a moment and then they are gone. If you’re like me, you hold on to things that you need to let go of, especially when it comes to people. I make friends for life, and it’s hard when a relationship is only seasonal for me. So, I have learned to let go. It’s not necessarily because I wanted to, but because it’s what God chooses for my life, and not only mine but theirs. Amen.

We learn to let go of things and people that no longer are meant to be in our lives. You free yourself and them, not in a bad way, but in a good way. I always think about the story in the Bible of Naomi, Ruth, and Orpah. Orpah returned home to her family, but Ruth clung to her mother-in-law, Naomi, and would not leave. Amen. They both loved her dearly. But what if Ruth had been selfish and desired to keep them both, instead of freeing Orpah to go back to her homeland? Maybe things wouldn’t have turned out as they did if Orpah had chosen to stay as well (Ruth 1:1-14). Amen!

God gives us enough grace to do what He alone has designed for us to do. When we add extra, we can and will get overwhelmed. So keep your life simplified and pray over it, asking Jesus to remove anything that should not be there any longer. Amen. Then focus your time and attention on those whom the Lord still has in your life, and pour your heart and soul into them. We cannot be everything to everybody, nor are we called to be. So find your people, find your place, and go hard after those things. Live your best life, not only for them but for yourself. Live and learn from one another, teach and guide each other, and really just do life together. Amen.

Scripture says this: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Amen.

Remember, less is more. You don’t need to do everything. Do what you’ve been called to do, and have in your life the people who are meant to be there. Your life will be so much better. Begin today by simplifying, choosing less rather than more, and focusing on the few rather than the many. Amen. It is in Jesus’ name that I ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today, my dear sweet friends, and remember, wherever you go and whatever you do, be a light for our Father. Much love to you all, Mandi.
