“Squeaky Wheel!”

“We’ve all heard the saying, “The squeaky wheel gets the oil.” This American proverb suggests that the most noticeable or loudest problems are the ones most likely to get attention. This morning, I’ve been reflecting on this idea and its deeper meaning.

First, consider how we often find ourselves going around certain mountains in life. Think of a crying baby; parents know the difference between a baby who is just whining for attention and one who is truly in pain or in need of something. Similarly, Jesus knows when we are merely complaining and when we are genuinely in need. Psalm 51:17 reminds us that a broken and contrite heart the Lord will not despise. When we are truly fed up with our problems, we become desperate for change. In those moments, we cry out, persist in prayer, and press on until we reach the Lord’s throne. In His presence, everything changes.

Consider the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48. She was determined to reach Jesus despite the crowd. She was tired of being rejected, overlooked, and cast out. Her faith drove her to press through and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, and she was healed instantly. Jesus acknowledged her faith and told her to go in peace.

So, what do you need from the Lord this morning? Whatever it is, I pray you dig deep and press into His presence. Cry out to Jesus, for only He can set you free, heal, and deliver. Instead of running to friends, your phone, or the internet for answers, run to Jesus. Be like the squeaky wheel—be noticeable and persistent. The loudest and most persistent cries often get attended to first. Call unto Him, and He will answer you and show you great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3). Trust Jesus with your life, for He has great plans for you. He loves you deeply and desires your freedom and healing in all areas.

Let go and let God have His way in your life. Seek Him earnestly and call upon Him. In Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen.

Be blessed today, my dear sweet friends, and remember to be a light for our Father wherever you go and whatever you do. Much love to you all, Mandi
