All who know me well understand just how much I love taking pictures. If you and I are together at any moment, rest assured there will be a picture taken—probably a few, actually. To me, these photos are so much more than just images; they are completely awesome. On days when life isn’t fair or things aren’t going well, or if I am simply not thinking good thoughts, I turn to these pictures. We all know that on bad days, negative thoughts can creep in, making us feel like life isn’t good or that we have it so bad. But on those days, I grab my phone and start scrolling through my photos.
Looking at all the things I’ve done and the people I’ve done them with quickly changes my mindset and mood. My heart fills with love and joy, and more importantly, gratitude to the Lord for all He does in my life. Amen!
Now, I’m not saying I constantly think bad thoughts. Like everyone else, I’m human and face my own battles. We all do. Whatever helps us cope, we should do. For me, I read my Bible and pray, but sometimes those images transport me back to that day. I remember the laughter, conversations, food, places, and things I saw. It does wonders for my soul, capturing moments that we can never retrieve again.
Our mind is a battlefield. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds. We need to protect and guard our minds, as they are crucial to who we are. We either win or lose in our minds. Amen!
The choice is ours. Let’s always think about the goodness of the Lord, keeping ourselves free from anything harmful to our souls or our walk with Christ. If taking pictures helps us change our thinking, then let’s keep snapping those pictures. Amen!
In our fast-paced world, we often forget what we’ve done, even a week ago. Capturing moments allows us to look back and remember. So, take a moment now and scroll through your photos. I bet you’ll smile and feel better. Life is lived in moments, so let’s capture every single one of them.
In Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen. Be blessed today, my dear friends. Remember, wherever you go and whatever you do, be a light for our Father.
Much love to you all, Mandi
