Humbleness and gentleness are qualities in our lives that radiate the beauty of the Lord. When we humble ourselves and are gentle and kind, we show Jesus to others. We display His goodness and His love. When we are gentle souls, kind souls, and humble individuals, we become beautiful to the world around us. Amen. When we can be kind to others despite their wicked ways, when we are kind souls regardless of how others behave, we influence the hearts of others. Amen. People notice our actions; they see how well we love and how gentle and kind we are, not just to those who may deserve kindness, but to everyone, including those who are not kind or pleasant. If we truly want to be a light and an example of our Father in heaven, we must show our love for others, loving them beyond their faults and failures. Amen.

Scripture says it is easy to do good to those who do good to you, but asks, “What reward do you have?” (Matthew 5:46). Amen. When we go above and beyond, when we turn the other cheek (Matthew 5:38-40), when we lead by example with much grace, gentleness, and kindness, we do a great work. We step into a new level of representing the Lord. Ugliness, haughtiness, a proud spirit, or a mouthy demeanor lead nowhere. Amen. These attitudes turn others away from who we are in the Lord. Amen. Let us remember that we have not always been the way we are now. Amen. Someone, somewhere along the way, showed us love, light, and kindness, even though we probably did not deserve it. Amen. But they loved us anyway. Praise God! They gave us the gift of gentleness and kindness. They were humble souls for the Lord, showing who God is in their lives and in how they chose to live. Amen.

Somewhere in all of that, we met the Lord for ourselves. We desired to know Him and to be His child. Amen. We saw it in their lives, in how they chose to love and adore us despite our shortcomings. Amen. Love sees beyond all faults; it sees beyond who we are at a moment in time. Love looks deep down and overlooks many sins and problems. Love shines light into the darkness and into the lives of those who need the Lord. If we start treating others the way the world does, failing to show kindness, gentleness, or humility, we lose sight of who the Lord is and has been to us. We lose our witness and the love that must always be in our lives. Everything we do matters greatly because someone, somewhere, needs what only we can give them. So be kind, loving, caring, a friend; lend a listening ear and shine Jesus (Colossians 3:12). We all need one another in this life. Amen. In Jesus’ name, I ask and pray. Amen and Amen.
