My momma always said you are what ya hang with…and I thought to myself when I was younger, mom, that’s not so…but how many of ya, she was right..I didn’t figure that out until I got a little older, and a little bit more wiser…cause the word of God says this unto us that we are not to be mislead, or deceived because evil communications corrupt good behavior..1 Corinthians 15:33…and as well iron sharpens iron, so a mans friend will sharpen the countenance of his friend..Proverbs 27:17…but isn’t that so true, if we all would take some time and think about it..cause if we hang out with people whom do certain things, or for that matter acts certain ways…than before long we ourselves will begin acting and doing things in the way in which they do…whether them things be good or not…either way you’ll catch yourself talking like them and doing things like they would do them…in other words if your around a lot of negative people…whom can’t seem to find that glass half full but instead always chooses to see that glass have empty..than you as well will begin to see the same thing…or if you are around people whom seem to always know everyones business so to speak and always keeps everyone caught up on whats going around town…than you as well before long will end up being one of those types of people…if you hang out with people whom cuss all the time..than guess what, you yourself will sooner or later end up and even slip up saying some of them not so nice words..see the Lord has a lot to say about that as well, actually over 40 some verses in the bible that speaks against using profanity..for one of them would be that of this in which says you must put away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth..Colossians 3:8…and that of another one would be this and it says do not let corrupt talk come out of your mouth, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear…Ephesians 4:29…cause we all know that our minds are like a computer we store away everything and anything that we may hear or that we may see, we kinda just remember it, and as I said whether it would be good things or whether it would be bad things..either way we remember and then we store them all away…I believe that’s why the Lord tells us to guard ourselves…guard what we do…guard what we see, guard what we watch…guard what we listen to…pretty much everything and anything in our lives should be guarded and protected at all times…as for my son and his philosophy in which the way he see’s it, is this he says, good company corrupts bad behavior…instead of bad company corrupting good behavior…and that as well can be the case sometimes…but let me tell ya a constant and continual hearing and hanging around and hanging out with the wrong crowd than that is not a good place for any of us to be…so my thoughts are this unto each of us. pray about everything you do personally in your life…make sure that what your doing is drawing you and pulling you in closer to the Lord…make sure your relationships and friendships..those acquaintances that you may be associating with are some good associates…make sure there not ones in which are dragging you down, and or pulling you down in your walk with the Almighty…cause a lot of times people are bringing a lot of hurt in your life other than help..and you’ll catch yourself being aggravated…and being pulled into drama and strife…and that is no place for any of us ever to be in our life…so set yourself free from anything or anyone whom is not walking and or going in the same direction in which you are…for the word says how can two walk together unless they be in agreement..Amos 3:3…so make sure your crew or your pack or whatever you want to call them…make sure that you all are on the same page in life..that your goals and dreams are that of which is of the Fathers business…don’t settle for less in your life…when the Lord came to give us all a life and a life more abundant..John 10:10…and we ourselves choose just what we do and whom we do it with…for friends, yes, we are supposed to be to everyone..we are to be kind, nice and loving…but to daily be associated with, that is another whole story…cause light and darkness they cannot dwell together..for we are told to not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?…2 Corinthians 6:14…see we can’t expect to change others..we can be a light to others…but as well we can’t make anyone serve God…see that falls back into their own choice about life and what they choose to do and how they choose to live their life…we can’t be around certain people that do certain things and as a christian sit in the midst of it and in other words agree with what their doing if them things in which there doing are wrong..so be wise in your relationships and choose carefully them things in which you do…for if you lack wisdom the Lord tells each of us to ask of Him and that He would give the wisdom it is that we’re needing..James 1:5…for never forget guys everything we do in our lives affects us, one way or another…so let us choose them things that are affecting us and drawing us in closer and closer to the Lord our God…In Jesus’ name I do ask and pray!
